Annual Passport Holder's.

"Unkin Buck" flew down for the weekend and a day at Disney last week. We did the usual rides on the Disneyland side, then headed over to California Adventure for lunch at Ariel's Grotto, where Adella was treated to a new princess dress. When I brought her down to the bathroom, she spotted Ariel and yelled "Hi Ariel",(really really loudly) Ariel then looked up and came over to talk to her. She was so excited to talk to a Disney princess up close, it almost brought me to tears. They have character dining at the restaurant, where all the princesses come to your table while you have dinner, but it books up months in advance so we weren't able to get in. I couldn't wait until Adella got into the whole Disney princess thing, now it's to the point where she has to put on a dress right when she gets up in the morning, and wears them all day. But we're OK with it...

7 Months

I am a little behind on blogging lately, typical. Nolan is 7 months! He has been keeping very busy scooting around on the floor and cruising in his walker. He can now go from sitting up to crawling, back to sitting up again. A milestone that was just reached after he turned 7 months last week. And of course, Tim was at work :o( . He adores Adella, and starts twirl his feet whenever he see's her. It's something I need to catch on video. They are starting to play really well together, and Adella is great about making sure he doesn't get anything that he could "coke on". I think she will do a great job of keeping the boy in line. Here is his monthly photo, I've been messing around with different ways to layout all of the images...

Playroom progress

We've been slowly doing a little bit of work on the playroom. Finding time to work on the many projects we have going is difficult. I wish I could find a good "before" picture, but this room was a home office and was used as a server room. There were big holes in the walls and awful over head lighting. We have since filled the holes, fixed the crown molding and painted. We also received a new table and chairs... that match our new kitchen chairs. They are amazing and I will post some fun pictures of the kids in them soon. We still have a lot of work to do, but here is how it looks today.

Big Girl Bed

Adella recently made the transition to a new big girl bed! She has done really well with it and doesn't get out until we go in to get her. She has a whole mess of things that have to be in the bed every night... including: 2 pillows, 2 little giraffe blankets, snow white, water, a sleepy sheep and a princess blanket. I couldn't imagine explaining the bed time routine to a sitter.

We are also in the process of researching and touring different preschools, which is overwhelming and emotional! She will hopefully start in September, but schools are filling up quickly and there are so many different ones in the area to consider. Our little girl isn't so little anymore :o(

Spring Has Sprung!

The weather has been beautiful in socal, all of our flowers are starting to bloom and things are looking overgrown and green again. We have a lot of maintenance work ahead of us. Our flagstone patio that we installed last spring (while I was 8 months pregnant) has all grown in. And we started seedlings for our garden last week. This year everything will be ORGANIC.... ooooo. I was concerned that we started them a little late, but they sprouted within 2 days of planting, and have gone crazy since.

Princess Play Date

Adella's friend Devon came over for a play date last week, and the princess obsession took over.
