Christmas Time!!!

Sine we got a late start on everything Christmas, we have been rushing around this past week trying to get a tree, decorations, lights and all the other stuff done for the holidays. The house is coming together and looking quite festive!

Unfortunately Tim has to work Christmas day this year so we're trying to figure out if we will have our "Christmas morning" on the 24th or really early on the 25th... I'm thinking the 24th :) Adella likes to sleep in now... :) So we'll probably head up to the firehouse again for another Holiday. Can't wait for the food!

Adella is such a happy baby. She loves people, especially the elderly (is that correct?), and gives them the biggest grins. She probably knows they are grandma's, as she's already caught on to the whole spoiling thing. But people love to admire her whenever were out and about and she just eats it up. All she wants to do is stand, and will fuss if we don't help her out. It's crazy how much she has changed in only four months.

Here are a few pics from this past week!

Adella likes the big guy... the photographer missed her first smile when she sat in his lap, it was huge!!

Moon

Tim took this picture of the moon from the lanai during one of my 3am feedings, thought it was pretty cool!

More Movies...

This one is short, watch her arms fly out when the water hits her toes!

She Talks!

Here is another video of Adella in Hawaii, it's kind of long but it's her talking, or her version of talking!

We're Home!!!

We got in late last night, and we are so happy to be home. Now we can start putting up all of our Christmas decorations and get ready for Santa!

The flight was much better for Adella on the way over, but we did manage to upgrade to first class, only because they messed up our seats. We always have the worst luck with airlines and customer service. She cried, not a lot, but more than on the way over. I think she was just really tired, as she didn't nap that well all day. But we're home! And we're done traveling for a while... it's exhausting with her!!

Here is a video from her first time in the ocean at the Mauna Kea beach. We were still trying to figure out the camera so it's not the greatest quality.

Aloha Again!

We've been here for almost a week now, and luckily we have another week to go! Not trying to rub it in.... but we have had so much fun taking Adella to the beach and introducing her to all of our favorite things in Hawaii (Not that she will remember, but it's fun for us!).

We had a baby blessing ceremony performed by Danny Akaka, the same man that married us at the Mauna Lani. Danny is the cultural historian at the Mauna Lani Resort and a practicing Kahu (minister). Tim and I wanted to have Adella Christened but neither one of us practice any sort of religion so we thought a Hawaiian blessing would be fitting. It was a beautiful ceremony right by the ocean and Adella was perfect through all of it. She was sprinkled with ocean water by a ti leaf and Danny said some prayers all in Hawaiian. Even though we couldn't understand the language, the importance of each chant was clear. We were very lucky to have Danny do this for us, as he is extremely busy throughout the year, and we are very grateful.

We decided to stay the night at the resort after the blessing ceremony for a little pampering. Everyone remembered us and we were upgraded to an AMAZING ocean front room!! We had dinner at the Canoe House (Adella slept the whole time) and had breakfast on our Lanai in the morning. We spent the next day in a cabana on the beach and had everything delivered to us ocean side. It was another perfect day. Everyone is so nice at the resort and we highly recommend going there, as it is a wonderful way to spend a shit load of money!

Here are a few pictures from this past week. We have many more but forgot the cord to one of the cameras we brought. (Yes, we brought multiple cameras) So we'll have to wait till we get back for video footage and lot's of cute beach pics.

Breakfast in bed is nice, but breakfast on your ocean front Lanai is even better.... sorry!

Aloha!

WE MADE IT!! The flight wasn't too bad, it flew by having Adella with us, and she was such a good girl! My mom and Dad met us at the airport with Lei's, even a little baby one for Adella. We spent the day today at Mauna Kea Beach and got some awesome pictures and video footage of her first time in the ocean. I will post more later, but just wanted to let everyone know that we are here and happy!!

Thanksgiving

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Tim had to work today so Adella and I went up to the firehouse to celebrate Thanksgiving with everyone on Tim's shift and their families. The food was AMAZING, the best Thanksgiving dinner I have ever had. It was so nice to relax on a lazy boy and watch all of them cook and clean, also had a bunch of babysitters so I was really able to relax. This was probably the best way to spend a holiday!

It was a hectic day though, and I apologize for not being able to talk to anyone today. Between baking pies and getting the both of us ready to drive an hour an a half (Adella HATES her carseat, driving anywhere is a nightmare) I barely had a minute to do anything. But we made it up there with out hitting much traffic, and Adella did OK in the car... the ride home was a different story. I was able to feed her in the dorm at the firehouse, in another awesome lazy boy, and she even napped through the bell going off a few times!

Tomorrow we will be spending the day packing and trying to calm Lexi down, as I am getting so nervous about flying! But we are all excited to head off to Hawaii. This will probably be the last post for a couple weeks, so this is why I am staying up WAY past my bedtime to get a few pictures out to everyone. I wish I would have remembered to get pictures of our spread, but I think with my tummy in times of hunger...

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!!

Countdown to Hawaii!!!

We've got one more week till we're off on our first family vacation to Hawaii. We're a little concerned about flying with Adella, so if any one has any tips, please let us know! I plan to feed her on the way up and down to help pop her ears.

Tim has been working a lot lately with all the wild fires we are having here, so we are both in need of some time away! I was stuck at home for a few days because Lani chewed thru her car seat, you can imagine how crazy I was going being stuck at home while Tim was at work.

Adella is starting to laugh more, our faces hurt by the end of the day from smiling so much, and she has really started to find her voice. She loves playing with rattles and sticks everything in her mouth, including her thumb. But it helps soothe her back to sleep at night! Here are a few pictures from last week.

She Laughs!!

Adella Laughed, really laughed, for the first time today!! Not just a gasp with a smile, but real chuckles!! It was the cutest thing and I can't wait for more!! Unfortunately Tim is at work for three days, so we'll be working on those chuckles for when he gets home.

This is her new activity gym that she loves, and it gives us a few minutes to get things done.

3 Months

Adella is three months old!! The last three months have gone by so quickly, and yet it seems like she has always been with us. We had a doc appointment yesterday and she weighed in at 12 pounds 10 ounces and 24 1/2 inches long. She is doing really well at supporting her head and will be sitting up in no time. She talks all the time, and tries so hard to communicate with us, she uses her whole body to smile and talk. She can now swat at toys and grasp them when held in front of her and she is fascinated with everything we see on our daily walks. Here are a few pics of her during tummy time, it's the cutest thing to watch her look at herself in the mirror when we do this!

Adella & Devon

Adella's new friend Devon came over today for their second playdate. Devon is Danny and Maria's daughter, born on September 27th... almost made it to my birthday!! They were SO cute together!! Adella still doesn't have complete control of her arms and kept whacking Devon, and all Devon was trying to do was suck on Adella's arm! They were also holding hands, awwww!! Here are a few pics... well more than a few!
