Escrow

Well we finally made an offer on a house and it was accepted! So we are officially in escrow for the next 30 days (so long as everything goes as planned). The house is in San Clemente, in Forster Ranch, which is a Talega type neighborhood minus the mello roos. It's practically new and needs little if any work, which we are so happy about. There are tons of kids in the neighborhood and a few firemen (Tim has already made friends) The house is a regular sale so we didn't have to wait 3+ months to hear back from the bank, like we would on a short sale, but it was also a bit more than what it would have sold for, if it were a short sale/foreclosure.

Our biggest concern at this point is the appraisal, and the home value being under the agreed sale price. As long as the appraisal comes back OK then we move forward with inspection, and everything else that needs to happen over the next 30 (25ish) days.

Here is a link to the home on realtor.com if you want to check out some pictures. If you click on the "featured tour" button, there are a bunch more pictures.

It has a relatively good sized yard (for California) which is pretty much why we love it. Our good friend and realtor Carol, brought her son along to show us the house and he immediately started running around in the back yard, just as kids should. At that point it felt right. There were other homes we looked at that had pavement slabs for backyards... barely any room to run around.

As you would imagine my mind is going crazy with idea's for decorating. I've already put together the downstairs living/play room. Once we close escrow i'll put pictures up of my idea's :)

So we could be home owner's (primary) in the next 30 days! And if not, then we start all over again, and that's OK too :)

Zoomars

We took Adella to Zoomars today. It's a (dirty) local (smelly) petting zoo in San Juan Capistrano. She loves the dogs and always laughs at them so we thought it would be fun for her to see all the animals at the farm. She met the bunnies and guinea pigs first and was a little shy. Then we headed over to the goats and she started to talk to them and got more comfortable. It was fun to see her reaction to all the quacks, baa's, chirps, and moo's in real life.

9 Months

Adella turned 9 months the other day!! Only 3 more till the big Birthday!! My, how quickly they grow...

She had her 9 month appointment yesterday and weighed 18 1/2 lbs and is just over 28.5" Long. No more mushy pureed food, we are giving her everything we eat now. I was excited for this new milestone, but now we really need to start cooking at home. It was a lot easier to just whip up some food in the babycook and freeze it for future meals, now I have to plan out healthy meals every night. She had her first taste of chicken tonight along with pea's, carrots, and green beans. Feeding her had started to get a bit difficult, I think she was getting bored. So now that she can actually feed herself it has gotten much better. We are also able to season her food, which makes it a lot more exciting for her. Sash and Patty brought us a bunch of avocados from their yard and Adella went nuts over them especially with a little bit of salt :).

Adella loves being around other kids. After our baby bootcamp classes all of the little ones tend to mingle around us and she loves interacting with them and watching the older ones play.  We go to music classes every other week, where we sing songs and play instruments, I think she likes the excitement of all the loud sounds. Swimming classes are next...

She has definitely developed stranger anxiety, and has become pretty clingy. She likes to people watch, but from the safety of Tim's or my arms. Her cry has changed too... she does a sort of babbling cry, it's kind of funny and hard not to laugh when she gets upset. Dressing her and changing her diaper is the end of the world and she is quite dramatic whenever we go to do it.

Tim got Adella a red buggy car thing, all the kids in the neighborhood have them, it's so fun to watch her sit up and clench on to the stirring wheel. She has to touch every fire hydrant that we pass on our walks, I'm a little concerned that she hates being dressed but loves fire hydrants...

Here are a few recent pictures.

Ear Infection :(

The past two weeks have been exhausting. We had our first experience with a sick baby. (which is why we have been MIA) It started out two Saturdays ago, Adella had a fever and was showing signs of a cold. We thought it was just from teething, as she has 2 new teeth that popped through. Her fever was moderate and manageable. Until last Saturday, it fever got to be about 103 so I brought her into "Kids Doc" which is a baby urgent care in Mission Viejo. I didn't like bringing her in there with all the other sick kids but she needed to be seen. It turns out she had an infection in both of her ears... :( So we started her on that yummy bubble gum pink amoxicillin that we all remember. She took it pretty well too.

A couple days into the medicine, she woke up with a blotchy rash all over her body. I called the doctor and they thought it could be that she was allergic to the antibiotic. I stopped the medication immediately but she was still irritable, not eating, and slightly feverish. I was concerned about treating her ear infection but also that she may react to a different medication. (Tim had been at work for 3 days, and just about every other day after that) Luckily T was around to give me a break during the day. After many phone calls back and forth between the telephone nurse and pediatrician I brought her in to be checked one more time. The infection cleared up on it's own (they think it was viral) and she is now back to her normal self.

So now that we are back to normal, she has grown into a new phase... mama's girl. She is stuck to me like a little barnacle, and will go from a dramatic cry when with anyone else, to a chatty happy girl the minute I pick her up. I'm not complaining though... I know one day she won't want anything to do with me, so I am embracing this new phase and loving her snuggling into me :).

We still have a million things to catch up on, all those things that were neglected while caring for her. But as soon as we have a minute we'll post some new pictures of the "teefs".
