Teething

Has begun...

Last week Adella was really fussy and waking, no screaming, in the middle of the night all the time. Of course it was the week Lauren was here. I couldn't feel anything on her gums so I didn't think she was teething, but her skin was clammy at night and she just didn't seem happy. The other day my mom pointed out a hard bulging mass on the top of her gums. :( I've read the bottom ones usually come in first so I was just checking her bottom gums and completely ignoring the top. I was really hoping she would be late teething... especially with nursing... oh well!

I hope this is just an Orange County thing... Tim and I were driving to In & Out yesterday and we noticed a man running with his two kids in a jogger, sounds nice right? Well some how this man managed to adapt a travel DVD player to the front of the stroller for the kids to enjoy while he took a run... not sure if he bought a special attachment for it or if he came up with it on his own. No comment.

Beach Day

We had some good weather this past week and spent a day down at the beach with Woo. There is a small park at this beach so we put Adella in the swings for the first time. She loved it! Later I held her on my lap and went on the big swings and she started falling asleep.

Woo was here this past week to meet Adella for the first time. (She was my maid of honor and best friend since 3rd grade) She is living in NYC right now so it was nice for her to get away from the busy city for a week. While she was here we went to the local "paint your own pottery" store and did ceramic imprints of Adella's hands and feet. After they fire it, and do whatever they do, we go back to paint all the pieces.

6 1/2 Months

Adella is 6 1/2 months now. She is starting to babble and talks all the time. All she wants to do is practice walking and gets a huge smile on her face. She is fussing for some attention right now but I wanted to get some pics up so I'll write more later!

Eat

Adella is doing so well with solids. So far she has had sweet peas, green beans, zucchini, and now sweet potatoes. Tim's parents got us this great little appliance called the babycook by Beaba, which steams, blends, and re-heats all in one. It makes it so easy to make her fresh food, rather than feed her all the pre-made stuff that sits on the grocery store shelfs for months. I'll post a video of her eating soon.

She just started sitting up on her own with no support and is doing really well with it. She LOVES the dogs. Probably the only reason why we are keeping them. Lani makes her laugh when we chase her around the house. Here are a couple pictures...

Beer...

We do not condone underage drinking...

Don't worry she isn't allowed to drink, yet!! She is just obsessed with grabbing everything in site, especially beer. We're always getting laughs from people when we're out somewhere and Tim is having a beer because her eyes light up and she tries so hard to get it. I think she just likes putting the glass in her mouth. She doesn't get it from her mom...

6 Months

Adella is almost 6 months old, half way to a year!! The past 6 months have flown by and I am sure the next 6 will go by even faster! We have been so busy lately, and I have been bad about updating the blog, I will try to be better...

We drove up to north to visit Tim's family and to introduce Adella to some of her relatives last weekend. She hates being in her car seat, so the drive was long, we had a good hour or so of straight SCREAMING! Tim and I are convinced that when people say their kids sleep in the car... all lies. But we made it up there and it was good to visit everyone and get away for a little trip. We'll put some pictures up later as they are on another camera.

We started Adella on solids today :) + :(. Exciting but kinda sad too. It was so cute watching her shove the spoon in her mouth and dribble the rice cereal everywhere. She seemed to really like it, I think she has been dying to eat solids. She stares at us when were eating wondering why she isn't getting what we are having. So now we are supposed to do rice cereal in the morning a veggie in the afternoon and at night. Feeding used to be a lot easier when I could just whip out the feeder, no preparation, perfect temperature, etc. Now there's a lot more that goes into it. We got some footage of her first meal, will post later. Can only do so much at a time!

She weighed in at 16 pounds and is 27 inches long. According to the growth chart she is 95% for height and 50% for weight. Seems to be right on track! Here are some pictures of this major milestone!! Our little girl is growing up so fast... Hah such a parent thing to say...

I don't think she needs our help...
Yummy

Stop! Let me do it ma...
